How to kiss Asian people from China
People from China to Thailand, asian people to Vietnam, to South Korea, to India, to Hong Kong and to Australia can now visit China for the first time in more than 20 years.
The visit is part of a broader initiative by the Chinese government to modernise its relations with the rest of the world.
The initiative aims to diversify its global outreach and strengthen ties with allies and partners.
It includes a range of initiatives such as opening a second office in Hong Kong to promote China-friendly businesses and investment; opening an office in the UK, opening an embassy in Laos, opening a Chinese cultural centre in Myanmar, opening two Chinese-run consulates in New Zealand and opening a centre in Malaysia.
“These are the key pillars of a strong and positive China-Australia relationship,” the Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said.
The government said in a statement that it was “unprecedented in its scale and breadth”.
“Today’s visit by Chinese leadership to Australia is an opportunity to demonstrate the depth and breadth of our common values and interests,” it said.
“This is the first visit by an Australian prime minister to China since the end of the Cold War.”
The announcement is part a wider diplomatic push by the Communist Party to reorient itself towards Asia, which it sees as the only possible route to prosperity for the world and its future.
In addition to its economic investment, China has also begun to make overtures to other parts of the global community including the United States and India.
Chinese state media has said the visit is aimed at promoting closer ties between China and the US and between Australia and India, two other key Asian nations.
